Rose flower and its importance

The Rose is a deciduous tree. Rose flower has great importance in Hindu Puja. The roses are found in various color like red, orange, white, orange, pink etc. Red rose is liked most of the person. Red rose plays vital role specially on Valentine day. On this day, Boy and Girl propose give red rose to each other and express his/her love to each other. Red rose plant has prickle on its stem naturally to protect its flower.

It is propagated in almost all part of India. Most of the people propagate it in earth pot and decorate their houses with it.

Rose flowers can be propagated by the seeds, cuttings, layers and by budding. Budding is the most usual method to propagate it. It requires at least six hours sun light to grow well. The best time for its cultivation is between September to October. It requires manures and fertilizers only at the time of planting. Besides, it requires water every week and presence of direct sunlight.

Lotus Flower and its medicinal uses

Lotus Flower is a sacred flower and has major importance in Hindu Religion. Lotus flower is the national flower of India. It is a water plant having broad floating leaves and produces bright fragrant flowers. Its leaves and flowers floats on water because its stem contains air. Its leaves are around 50CM diameter and helps it to float on water surface. The flowers are in many colors like rosy, red, white, rosy pink, pink etc.
The Lotus Flower opens in the morning and the petals fall in the afternoon. So, many times, when some insects goes inside it in evening to suck the sweet flowers, gets out only in morning when it opens in the sun light.
It is cultivated through seeds. Its seeds are rooted in the damp soil. It requires proper sun light around 6 hours a day to grow.




Medicinal uses :

1. Lotus seeds are used as astringent and and used to cure kidney, spleen, and heart related diseases.
2. Lotus seeds are used to treat weak sexual function in men and leukorrhea in women.

Turmeric Plant

Turmeric Plant is a plant that does not have much wood and its stems. The turmeric powder is mixed with cooked vegetables to make it tasty. The average height of turmeric tree is around 60-90cm. It grows very fast and produces flowers and seeds in a very short span of time. The seeds of turmeric tree are not viable. It plants looks like ginger plant and widely cultivated in different part of India.

It is planted in the month of September - October. It requires light black, loamy and red soils. It requires proper irrigation on regular basis to grow well.

Kikar Tree

Kikar Tree is a small tree full of thorn. The average height of it is 7-12 meter. Its flower is of yellow color. Its bark is rough and blackish. Its leaves are dark green and 120 mm long and 50 mm wide. Its flower is around 10-15 mm of diameter and sweetly scented.

It can be found in Haryana in India and in some part of other states of India.

Medicinal Uses:

Its bark and seeds are full of tannin so it is used in medical treatment. The Kikar Tree is used in the treatment of Diarrhoea and Bleeding. Khair Tree


Khair tree is a deciduous tree and the height of it is up to 15 meter. It bark is rough and the color of it is dark brown. The size of its leave is around 8-10cm. The color of its flower is of yellow and its starts to appear on its twig in the month of June-August. The fruits start to ripe in the month of January and it lasts in the month of March. Khair tree is generally propagated through its seeds and found in south India.
The seeds are shown on sandy and black cotton soil in the month of June-July. It requires a little of water while it is young.
