Sal Tree and Its uses

Sal Tree is a deciduous tree of average height 35 meter. It is a evergreen tree. Its leaves are green and flowers are of yellow color. The Sal Tree is found throughout India. It is mostly found on the foothills of the Himalaya. Sal Tree requires more water so it is generally propagated where there is moist and sandy loam soil. It is mostly propagated through cuttings. Its fruits ripe in the month of June-July.

Medicinal Uses:

1. Its resin is used to make medicine which works as astringent and detergent for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery.
2. It is used as ingredient for making ointments which is very effective for curing skin diseases.
3. Its drop is used in ear troubles
4. It is used to make cream for foot
5. The fruits of the Sal Tree is very effective in the treatment of excessive epilepsy, salivation and chlorosis.
6. Its powder is used as insecticides
7. Its powder is very good and used for dental treatment
8. It is used to make cleanser for skin

Other Uses:

Kikar Tree

Kikar Tree is a small tree full of thorn. The average height of it is 7-12 meter. Its flower is of yellow color. Its bark is rough and blackish. Its leaves are dark green and 120 mm long and 50 mm wide. Its flower is around 10-15 mm of diameter and sweetly scented.

It can be found in Haryana in India and in some part of other states of India.

Medicinal Uses:

Its bark and seeds are full of tannin so it is used in medical treatment. The Kikar Tree is used in the treatment of Diarrhoea and Bleeding. Its gum is very good and applied on skin to soothe the irritation of the skin. The new pods of Kikar Tree is very effective to improve sexual disorders like loss of Viscidity of the semen and premature ejaculation. Its wood is used in the production of paper.
