Indian Mahogany

Indian Mahogany is found in most of the parts of India. Indian mahogany is a very long tree. Its height is about 50 feet. There are some symmetrical crown in the tree. It is spread over 25-35 feet. It fruit is of greenish brown color. It s wood is red brown in color. It has flower of male and female on the same plant. Its brak is of brown color.
Indian Mahogany is propagated through seeds. It is irrigated periodically in early age. when it grows it needs only sun light and partial shade. It leaves its leaves every year in the month of November-December.

Medicinal Uses:

1. The Bark of Indian Mahogany is used for astringent for wounds.
2. Indian Mahogany is used for the treatment of many diseas. For example - fever, malaria, anemia diarrhea, dysentery and depurative etc.
3. Indian Mahogany Leaves is used for making lemonoids.

Other Uses:

1. The wood of Indian mahogany is used for making furniture, fixtures, musical instruments, inlay, boat, caskets etc.
2. Its wood is a very popular and a good material for drum making.
