Banyan Tree

Banyan Tree is a huge Tree with several branches. It gives shelter to animal and human. At one time, more than 500 hundred people can sit under Banyan Tree. It is a sacred Tree for Hindus. It is a evergreen tree. When it grow, its branches spread out and some of the branches start to bend and its trunk start to spread a long root to earth so that it can support its weight. The leaves are broad, oval shaped and upto 10-20 inches.
It is a National Tree of India and very easy to root at your place. Do a small cut on its trunk and pour some wetted soil on it and round a sack around it. Now daily pour some water on it so that roots can be developed. when the roots are developed then cut the trunk and root it some other places.
It is a sacred tree and considered as "Kalpa Vriksha" which fulfills all wishes. so Hindus worships it pray to fulfill their wishes.

Uses of It:

1. Its fig, seed, leaf, bark are used for curing different diseases like polyuria, diarrhea, dental, diabetes and urine disorders.
2. Its hard wood is used to make door panel, door, window, window panel etc.
3. Paper and ropes are made with its bark.
4. Its milky latex are used for making Ayurvedic medicines.
5. Its leaves are used to make plates.
6. It is planted for the soil conservation.

Holy Basil


It is a herbal small tree, widely known because of its medicinal importance. It is also called Tulsi. The Hindus worship Tulsi Tree. It is a strong symbol to be Hindus and it can be found in every hindus house.

There are two kinds of Tulsi:
1. Dark Shyama Tulsi
2. Rama Tulsi

Due to its medicinal importance, Ancient people planted Tulsi Tree in there home and it has become a tradition to plant Tulsi Tree in our home.

Medicinal Uses:

1. It acts as a Tonic and makes our immune system working proper.
2. If there is cough then you can have the tea of Tulsi Leaves. It helps to eradicate old cough.
3. It cures your wound if you apply the paste of Tulsi Leaves on it.
4. It improves our digesting function.
5. It exhale oxygen all the twenty four hours. So there is no harm to keep its plant in sleeping room.
6. It kills germ. so it is good to chew its leaves.

Peepal Tree


Peepal Tree is one of the common tree found in every corner of country. It is one of the oldest tree which has numbers of advantage. It is one of the sacred tree for Hindus and Jains and has great importance of it. Its height is very high. It is worshiped because people believe that Goddes lives in it. Lord Budha got enlightment when he was worshing in the shed of Peepal Tree. Its leaves are heart shaped. It not only gives shelter to human but also gives shelter to birds. It provides us cool and fresh air. It emits oxygen all the twenty four hours.

Medicinal uses of Peepal Tree:

  • 1. The Juice of Peepal leaves are used as ear drop.
  • 2. Its bark is used to heal the wounds.
  • 3. The hard bark of the Peepal tree is used in inflammations and glandular swelling of the neck.
  • 4. Peepal root bark is used for clean ulcers, stomatitis and promotes granulations.
  • 5. Its roots are very effective to medicate the gout.
  • 6. Chewing its roots can be helpful to prevent gum diseases.
  • 7. Peepal fruit which is laxative which promotes digestion and checks vomiting.
  • 8. Its ripe fruits are used for heart diseases.

Neem Tree

Neem Tree is one of the oldest herb tree, which is not only used for giving us shelter but also used in medication. It has green leaves and the height of it be upto 100 feet. It is very popular tree, found every corner of country. It consumes little water and plenty of sunlight to make its food in presence of sunlight.

Medicinal Uses of Neem Tree:

  • 1. Neem Oil which is extracted from its seed is used in pest control, medicines and cosmetics etc.
  • 2. Neem Leaves are used in the treatment of Chickenpox which is a common disease in India.
  • 3. Neem tea should be taken to reduce the headache and fever.
  • 4. The Paste of Neem tree is used to cure the pubs and wounds.
  • 5. Skin diseases can be root out using the Neem Tree. For this, We either need to chew new neem leaves or use the products created with the mixture of Neem Powder.
  • 6. It helps us to minimize the effect of diabeates.
